Overview

SHAP specialises in providing high quality accommodation and support services for young people who are homeless, in housing need, or experiencing disruption and difficulty in their life.

The organisation aims to provide young people with a period of stability and enable them to gain the confidence, knowledge, skills and opportunity they require in order to be able to take control of their own lives and live independently.

All SHAP tenancies are offered with support, and different schemes provide different levels of support. Housing related support can include, for example :

Help in maintaining a home or tenancy
Developing domestic/ life/ social skills
Advice, advocacy and liaison
Help with managing finances/ benefit claims
Emotional support/ counselling
Help in gaining access to other services
Supervision and monitoring of health and well being
Help with finding other accommodation

Services Provided

SHAP services within Liverpool include:

Substance Misuse Scheme - support workers help and support tenants with a history of substance misuse to successfully manage their tenancies.
Teenage Parent Project - provides floating support to teenage parents and young people within Liverpool
Mother and Baby Unit - Elizabeth Anderson House
